Businessman and Bollywood actor Shilpa Shetty’s husband Raj Kundra was sent to judicial custody for 14 days by Chief Metropolitan Magistrate court in a case related to the alleged creation of pornographic films and publishing them through some apps.
Meanwhile, Kundra moved the court for bail hearing and same will be happen on Wednesday. It has also emerged that Shilpa Shetty and Kundra had a huge argument when the Crime Branch raided their home, following which the actress broke down in tears, saying she was unaware of her husband’s actions, Mumbai Police sources said. “She asked him what was the need of doing such things when they achieved a standing in society,” they added.
Meanwhile, Mumbai Crime Branch on Tuesday said that Shilpa Shetty has not yet been given a clean chit in the pornography racket case where her husband Raj Kundra is the prime accused. “Shilpa Shetty has not been given a clean chit yet. All the possibilities and angles are being probed. Forensic auditors have been appointed and they are looking into the transactions of all the accounts in this case. This audit may take some time as it is a lengthy process, but until the audit is complete, no clean chit to anyone,” the officials said. The officials also mentioned that actor Sherlyn Chopra has been called to provide a statement as a witness in the case.
Seeking more days of police custody, Mumbai police had submitted, “There was Rs 1.13 crore in Kotak Mahindra Bank account, Citibank and Kotak Mahindra bank accounts have been frozen. Kundra’s hard disk, server, phones, electronic devices were seized and police wants to interrogate and investigate more. Forensic auditor has been appointed and is investigating the case. A huge amount of data has been deleted and we need to retrieve the same. International transactions have come to light. Yash Thakur and Pardeep Bakshi are the accused in the case and need to be arrested. Thus, we stress upon the need for their custody. We have appointed forensic auditors to probe the case.” Kundra was produced before the magistrate court at the end of his police remand on Tuesday.
Mumbai Police has also appealed to the victims to come forward and speak up. Police will record their statements. Police has already recorded statements of two victims and they will summon more. The Mumbai Police has appealed to other victims to come forward and give information about the illegal acts committed against them and said they have already recorded the statements of two aggrieved women. Kundra has been charged with offences under various provisions of the Indian Penal Code, IT Act and Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act.
The crime branch also appointed a financial auditor to investigate the revenue from BollyFame and HotShots that produced alleged pornographic content. This report, once ready, will be shared with the Enforcement Directorate (ED). The auditor has also been asked to investigate a joint account held by Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra, from where several transactions took place related to the apps. The ED has stepped in and has asked for certain documents and an FIR copy from Mumbai Crime Branch in the Raj Kundra pornography case. Talking about the bail plea filed, senior counsel advocate Abad Ponda explained the grounds for bail and said, “Raj Kundra has been cooperative, he has been inside since long; the chargesheet has been filed long back in the case. There is no need for him to be behind bars. Hearing will happen on Wednesday.”

CONGRESS DESTROYED MADHYA PRADESH DURING 15-MONTH TENURE, SAYS SHIVRAJ SINGH CHAUHAN
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan slammed the previous Congress government in the state, alleging that the state witnessed destruction during its tenure.
“Kamal Nath was the Chief Minister for 15 months. His government destroyed the state for those 15 months. Development works and schemes were halted. Kamal Nath could not provide water and money to farmers. But after 15 months, I was back into power during the Covid crisis. Everything had stopped. There was also a challenge of upgrading healthcare infrastructure,” Chauhan said. As a part of the programme, Chauhan launched 103 Angandwadis in 32 districts of the state. 10,000 nutrition gardens were also launched in 52 districts of the state.
Speaking on the success of his government, the Chief Minister added, “We tried to work for farmers in spite of facing a financial crunch. We purchased paddy and wheat. We also purchased Moong dal from farmers so that they would not have to face losses. I provided Rs 8,000 crores to farmers under Prime Minister Fasal Beema Yojna.”
“The Prime Minister provided an amount of Rs 6,000 per year and I provided Rs 4,000 from my side as well. This government works for farmers. But the previous government could not even provide water to farmers,” he added.
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) came to power in the state last year in March with Shivraj Singh Chouhan assuming the chief ministerial post. This came after the Kamal Nath-led Congress government collapsed following the resignation of then party leader Jyotiraditya Scindia, who went on to join the BJP along with 21 MLAs.
AMID COVID-19, TRIPURA HC REJECTS TMC PLEA TO HOLD RALLY ON 22 SEPTEMBER
TMC leader Shantanu Sen said that the state’s BJP government is scared of the Trinamool Congress and that is why it is trying to hinder their political activities, under the garb of legalities.
Keeping in view the Covid-19 situation in the state, Trinamool’s Abhishek Banerjee will not be able to hold any meeting or procession till November 4 in Tripura, stated an official decree of the Tripura High Court. Earlier, on Tuesday morning, Tripura CM Biplob Deb also banned the holding of any meeting in the state, citing the similar reasons. However, according to some sections of the political circles, the reason behind this is political.
The Trinamool Congress had sought permission for Abhishek Banerjee, the All India General Secretary of the Trinamool Congress, to hold a march for the third time. The matter was taken to the Tripura High Court. During the hearing of the case, the court said that the Tripura government had informed that it was not allowing any meeting, committee, or any procession in view of the Covid-19 situation in the state. The ban is in place until November 4.
“Any kind of meeting/procession/public gathering by any political party in Sadar Police Subdivision (East Agartala and West Agartala areas) is prohibited w. e.f. 6 A.M of 21.09.2021 to midnight 04.11.2021,” said the notification.
A single judge high court bench of justice Arindam Lodh on Tuesday rejected TMC’s petition for staying the notification.
In this context, the Tripura High Court said that the court does not want to interfere in any way in the decision taken by the Tripura government in the panemic situation. As a result, Abhishek Banerjee’s march for Wednesday has been canceled. Although the Trinamool alleges that the BJP government has used this legal step to stop Abhishek.
Because, before that, their program was not allowed on September 15. After that, the procession of Abhishek was canceled on 16 September, citing the reasons of Bishwakarma Pujo.
TMC leader Shantanu Sen said the state’s Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government is scared of them and that is why it is trying to hinder their political activities.
“But we are with the people, and we will stick to them in the coming days as well,” Sen was quoted saying by the Hindustan Times.
On the contrary, BJP claims that this decision has been taken by the government in view of the emergency situation, and it has nothing to do with politics.
Meanwhile, Trinamool leader Kunal Ghosh fell ill during interrogation at Tripura police station on the same day. He was summoned for questioning by the Tripura Police. The interrogation lasted for some time, and in the midst, Ghosh fell ill at the police station. He was rushed to ILS Hospital in Tripura for treatment.
