Rahul Gandhi, who will address the Congress’s Halla Bol rally on Sunday at Delhi’s Ramlila Maidan, asserted that the “king” today only cares about making money for his friends, while the general public has to consider their purchases ten times before making even the most basic ones. Rahul Gandhi said his party and he will keep speaking out against inflation while blaming PM Modi for the increase in prices. “The king will have to listen,” he tweeted.

The Congress’ Bharat Jodo Yatra, a 3,500-kilometer journey from Kanyakumari to Kashmir that Rahul Gandhi will start on September 7, will be preceded by the Halla Bol rally.

Since the final week of August, Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, and Sonia Gandhi, the party’s president, have been in Italy. On August 27, Paola Maino, the mother of Sonia Gandhi, passed away.

The party needs Rahul Gandhi to show up today since there has been much discussion about his leadership since Ghulam Nabi Azad left the organisation. Azad referred to Rahul Gandhi as a “non-serious” leader and blamed the party’s electoral setback on him and his leadership.

The need for election transparency has been growing within the party as the party prepares for the presidential election, which Rahul Gandhi is rumoured to be reluctant to run for. Pradyut Bordoloi, Manish Tewari, and Shashi Tharoor urged that the election rolls be made available to the public.
