Anvay Dravid, the youngest son of legendary cricketer and former India Head Coach Rahul Dravid, appears to be treading the same path as his father. He showcased his talent with a maiden century for Karnataka in the Vijay Merchant Trophy on Friday.

In the U-16 match at the DVR Ground, Mulapadu, Anvay played a pivotal role in securing crucial points for his team, scoring an unbeaten 100 off 153 balls, studded with 10 boundaries and two sixes. Karnataka responded strongly to Jharkhand’s first innings score of 387 with 441/4, thanks to centuries from openers Arya J Gowda and captain Dhruv Krishnan, as well as Syaamantak Anirudh’s 76 and Anvay’s hundred.

Anvay has shown promise before, having captained Karnataka’s U-14 team and smashing an unbeaten double century for the Bangalore Zone in the KSCA U-16 Inter-Zonal tournament.

Meanwhile, Rahul Dravid’s elder son, Samit, 19, is also making waves. He was recently selected for India U19’s multi-format series against Australia and represents Mysuru Warriors in the Maharaja T20 Trophy.
