Putting all speculations to rest, 23-time Grand Slam champion Rafael Nadal has told that he will not retire from tennis just yet and intends to carry on playing tennis till he is able to continue doing so.
Nadal made the statement during an award ceremony in Madrid where he was bestowed with the Camino Real award by Spain’s King Felipe.
Nadal has been going through chronic foot injury and made headlines after his fourth round loss at the US Open earlier this month, when he said he would need to fix a few things and was not sure about when he would be back on the tour.
However, his recent statement will bring a smile to all the tennis fans across the world.
“The intention is to continue carrying Spain’s name around the world while I am still active and competing,” Nadal said putting to rest all the assumptions regarding his retirement.
