R. Madhavan receives Doctor of Letters for his contribution to arts and films

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], February 17 (ANI): Indian actor, writer, producer, and director Ranganathan Madhavan, on Wednesday was conferred the degree of Doctor of Letters (D. Litt.) for his outstanding contribution to arts and cinema.
The event took place at the 9th convocation ceremony of DY Patil Education Society, Kolhapur where the chancellor, the vice-chancellor, members of the academic council, and the board of management came together to honour him.
After receiving the accolade, Madhavan said, “I am truly humbled by this honour. This will only motivate me to keep pushing the envelope and challenging myself with newer projects.”
The 50-year-old actor marked his acting debut in 1997 with the English film, ‘Inferno’. Thereafter, he worked in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi films, and delivered memorable performances in much-loved films like ‘Alaipayuthey’, ‘Rehnaa Hai Tere Dil Mein’, ‘Rang De Basanti’, ‘3 Idiots’, ‘Tanu Weds Manu’, ‘Irudhi Suttru’, and many others.
He also appeared in the 2017 action-thriller movie ‘Vikram Vedha’, which proved to be a blockbuster, and garnered wide critical success too.
He also marked his foray into the web space with ‘Breathe’ where he played a football coach who leaves no stone unturned to save his son who has been diagnosed with weak lungs.
Madhavan was recently seen in the Tamil-language emotional drama ‘Maara’, where he played a mystical and gypsy soul. He received raving reviews for his performance and the film went on to become a major hit.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Madhavan is awaiting the release of his directorial debut, ‘Rocketry: The Nambi Effect’ which is based on the life of Nambi Narayanan, a former scientist and aerospace engineer of the Indian Space Research Organisation who was accused of espionage. He has also written, produced, and acted in the project. (ANI)

Suniel Shetty’s son Ahan set to make debut in romantic drama ‘Tadap’

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], March 2 (ANI): Veteran actor Suniel Shetty’s son Ahan Shetty is set to make his debut with Tara Sutaria in the upcoming outing ‘Tadap.’ The movie will hit the big screens on September 24, 2021.
Indian film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh on Tuesday shared the news regarding the new project on his Instagram handle.
“AHAN SHETTY – TARA SUTARIA: #TADAP ARRIVES IN SEPT 2021… #TADAP ARRIVES IN SEPT 2021… #Tadap – the acting debut of #AhanShetty [son of #SunielShetty] – to release on 24 Sept 2021,” Taran wrote.
“Costars #TaraSutaria… Remake of #Telugu film #RX100… Directed by #MilanLuthria… Produced by #SajidNadiadwala… Fox Star Studios presentation,” he added.

Along with the release date and other details, a poster of the film was also dropped which piqued the curiosity of the audience.
The poster sees Tara hugging Ahan. The duo is seen standing at a stormy place while Ahan is trying to save and keep close to Tara amid the turbulence. The poster also showcased the release date of the film and comes with a text written on it, “An incredible love story.”
The movie ‘Tadap’ is being produced under the banner of Sajid Nadiadwala’s production house and is being helmed by Milan Luthria. (ANI)

Gal Gadot announces third pregnancy with adorable family picture

Washington [US], March 2 (ANI): Hollywood actor Gal Gadot, widely known for playing the lead role in ‘Wonder Woman’ franchise, is soon going to welcome a new family member. Gadot recently revealed that she is expecting her third child with husband Yaron Varsano.
The 35-year-old star announced her pregnancy on social media on Monday. She posted an adorable family picture on Instagram, which features the actor with her husband and their daughters laying on the bed and cradling her baby bump with big smiles on their faces.
He captioned the sweet post, “Here we go again.”

Gadot and Varsano, who tied the knot in 2008, are already proud parents to two daughters- nine-year-old Alma and three-year-old Maya, reported People magazine.
The ‘Death on the Nile’ star’s pregnancy announcement comes a day after fans saw Gadot presenting Best Foreign Language Film at the 2021 Golden Globes on Sunday. However, she concealed any sign of a baby bump underneath a white Givenchy swing mini dress with flowing sleeves and a mock turtleneck during the event.
Back in September, Gadot and Varsano celebrated more than a decade of marriage, taking to Instagram to commemorate the milestone. “Happy anniversary @jaronvarsano. You’re my one. My only. My everything.. 12 years of marriage feels like a walk in the park with you. To many more to come. I’m yours forever,” she wrote.
Gadot was last seen in ‘Wonder Woman 1984’, which Warner Bros released simultaneously in theatres and OTT.
She will feature next in Zack Snyder’s ‘Justice League’ cut, which is slated to release on HBO Max this month. Apart from that, she also has Netflix film ‘Red Notice’ in the pipeline. Gadot will feature in the movie with Dwayne Johnson and Ryan Reynolds. (ANI)

TEARY-EYED CHADWICK BOSEMAN’S WIFE PICKS UP AWARD ON HUBBY’S BEHALF

WASHINGTON : As American actor Chadwick Boseman picked up a posthumous Golden Globe award, his wife Simone Ledward Boseman got teary-eyed and gave an emotional speech on behalf of the late actor.

Boseman bagged the Golden Globe award in the Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture—Drama category. Boseman won the accolade for his portrayal of Levee Green in Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom. The George C. Wolfe directorial marked Boseman’s final film role. With this award win, Boseman became just the second posthumous winner in the category’s history.

“He would thank God. He would thank his parents. He would thank his ancestors for their guidance and their sacrifices. He would say something beautiful, something inspiring, something that would amplify that little voice inside of all of us that tells you, ‘You can,’ that tells you to keep going, that calls you back to what you are meant to be doing at this moment in history,”

The nominees for Golden Globes were announced on 3 February and Jane Fonda and Norman Lear were announced as the recipients of the Cecil B. DeMille Award and the Carol Burnett Award, respectively.

DISHA PATANI STARTS SHOOTING FOR ‘EK VILLAIN RETURNS’

MUMBAI : Disha Patani on Monday started the shooting of her upcoming action drama Ek Villain Returns and shared a picture from her vanity van. The actress took to Instagram and announced the beginning of the shoot. Patani wrote in the caption, “And here we go #ekvillainreturns @mohit11481 @balajimotionpic.”

The movie boasts an ensemble star cast including John Abraham, Tara Sutaria, Arjun Kapoor and Disha Patani. Earlier last year, media reports suggested that Aditya Roy Kapoor was paired opposite Tara Sutaria for ‘Ek Villain Returns’, however, now the ‘Ashiqui 2’ star has been replaced by the ‘Ishaqzaade’ actor Arjun Kapoor. Directed by Mohit Suri, the film’s first instalment was released in 2014.

Ranbir, Anil Kapoor-starrer ‘Animal’ gets a release date

NEW DELHI: The makers of ‘Animal’, starring Ranbir and Anil Kapoor, have finally revealed the release date of the upcoming film. Apart from Ranbir and Anil, the film also stars Parineeti Chopra and Bobby Deol in the lead roles. It is set to hit the theatres on Dussehra 2022.

Taking to his Twitter handle, Anil shared the news of the release date with his fans. He tweeted, “ANIMAL Coming Dussehra 2022! #RanbirKapoor @ParineetiChopra @thedeol Directed by @imvangasandeep Animal is produced by #BhushanKumar @VangaPranay @MuradKhetani #KrishanKumar #TSeriesFilms @VangaPictures @Cine1Studios @TSeries.”

Going by the teaser, it looks like Anil will be seen playing Ranbir’s father in the movie. In the teaser video, Ranbir’s voiceover hints at Animal being an intense drama. Towards the end of the clip, the audience also gets to hear incessant gunshots which tease some good action sequences.

The film is being directed by Kabir Singh fame director Sandeep Reddy Vanga.

Kim Kardashian’s fan attempts to crash through her Hidden Hills gate

Washington [US], March 1 (ANI): An alleged trespasser crashed through the gate of the American reality TV star Kim Kardashian’s Hidden Hills community on Wednesday last week.
According to TMZ’s exclusive report on Monday, a man who called himself Kim’s ‘ex’ tried to get inside her house in order to catch a glimpse of the star.
Law enforcement sources told that the incident happened around 6:30 pm on Wednesday, when the 24-year-old man breached the main entrance gate in an effort to track down Kim at her Hidden Hills home.
TMZ reported that the security managed to stop the man before he could get near the ‘KUWTK’ star, and the Sheriff was called.
After being caught, the man claimed himself to be an ex-husband of Kim and told the law enforcement that he was going to meet her.
However, the Sheriff cited the guy for trespassing and he was released. (ANI)
