The UK royal family has suffered greatly as a result of King Charles and Kate Middleton’s medical troubles. The King was diagnosed with cancer just a few months after his coronation, which sparked rumours about his failing health and funeral plans during a critical period. King Charles, however, has denied these rumours by performing his royal obligations and proving that he is recovering. Queen Camilla, in an amusing statement, told the people that the King would be “getting better” provided he “behaved himself.”

Recently, King Charles hosted a tea garden party at Buckingham Palace, attended by other royal members and close friends. This event coincided with Prince Harry’s brief return to the UK to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Invictus, although a father-son reunion did not occur. At the party, Queen Camilla shared with guests that the King’s health is improving, but expressed frustration over his workload and lack of rest.

Despite medical advice to rest, King Charles remains committed to his royal engagements, having completed five events in 48 hours last week. He also missed a party hosted by Camilla at Lamb House, Rye, in East Sussex, on Saturday night. Camilla mentioned that Charles was recovering “really well” but was “frustrated” about missing the National Trust event. She joked that he would have recovered “much quicker” if he had taken better care of himself, adding, “Well, he would be if he behaved himself.”

In other news, a close friend of the Queen revealed that Prince William is likely against the idea of Harry reuniting with King Charles. Despite being only 2 km away from the palace, the Duke of Sussex couldn’t meet his father due to a busy schedule. Society journalist Petronella Wyatt, who has known Camilla since she was 18, wrote that William has been the “problem.”

“There is a public misconception about William and Harry,” Wyatt said. William has always been the one to cause trouble, and it is William who stands in the way of his father and Harry’s appropriate reconciliation. This is inconvenient at a time when the King and the nation would both benefit from seeing them together again.

Close friends of Kate Middleton and William, though, swiftly denied these allegations, claiming that William would never tell his father what to do about Harry. They did, however, acknowledge the continued conflict between the brothers and William’s hostility towards Harry in particular.

“But what is true is that Charles’ absolute priority is the unity of the monarchy, and given the extent of William’s animosity to Harry, Charles can hardly roll out the red carpet and invite Harry and the kids to stay at Balmoral for the summer holidays—however much he would like to.”
