Senior faculty members of Panjab University along with students of Punjab University visited New Delhi for the G-20 University Connect Finale held today. During the event, Hon’ble Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi interacted with the Vice Chancellors, Principals, Faculty Members and Students of various Universities/Colleges.
The event was live streamed at various auditoriums of the University like the Department of English, University Institute of Chemical Engineering & Technology, UIET, UILS and HRDC. Prof. Renu Vig, Vice Chancellor, Punjab University, Prof. Rumina Sethi, Dean of University Instructions, Prof. Amrit Pal Toor, Prof. Anupama Sharma, Prof. Jagat Bhushan, Prof. Namita Gupta along with various faculty members and students of the University witnessed the live streaming.
Prof. Vig stated that Punjab University, Chandigarh is proud to be one of the 76 Indian universities chosen from various states and UTs of India for the G20 Presidency Celebrations. PU hosted multiple lecture series and organized various student centric activities. Prof. Vig shared that Punjab University conducted G-20 Youth International Seminar on the “Future of work: Industry 4.0, innovation and 21st century skills” and “Shared future: Youth in democracy and governance” on March 4, 2023. The seminar was inaugurated by Banwari Lal Purohit, Governor, Punjab and Administrator, UT, Chandigarh. Various dignitaries were present on the event which includes Hon’ble Justice Sabina, Chief Justice, Himachal Pradesh High Court; Meeta Rajivlochan, Secretary to Govt. of India;Dr. Madhumita Kothari, Senior Advisor, United Nation International Seabed Authority; Sh. Satyapal Jain, Additional Solicitor General of India.
Many renowned international scholars along with the officials from Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, fellows, faculty members, Senior PU officials, researchers and students participated in the event. University conducted various events under the G-20 programme which includes Online Essay Writing Competition, Nukkad Natak, MY20, Sports Activities, Cultural Activities, Declamation contests etc.
