After the successful execution of Punjab Police’s operation against gangsters, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Wednesday said that the state will soon be freed from gangsters and drug traffickers. In his message to the people, the Chief Minister said, “It is my assurance to the people of the state that no one will be allowed to disturb the hard-earned peace of the state. Punjab will get freedom from gangsters and drug traffickers. “

During a meeting with Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav and other officials at his official residence on Thursday, the Chief Minister made it clear that these gangsters and drug traffickers were protected by the leaders in power during the previous governments. He said that under the shelter of Akalis and Congressmen, the gangsters ran their activities openly across the state because these leaders used the gangsters for their political interests. Bhagwant Mann further said that the first priority of his government after assuming power is to rid Punjab of gangsters and drug traffickers.
