Sending a message against negligence on part of law and order as per the commitment of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, Punjab Police on Sunday have suspended seven jail officials of which five have been arrested including a Superintendent of Central Jail, Goindwal Sahib for negligence and alleged connivance with jail inmates in a video leak case.
Shocking videos from Tarn Taran’s Goindwal Sahib jail, where accused of Sidhu Moosewala murder have been kept, have surfaced on the internet. One video, shot by one Sachin Bhiwani of Lawrence Bishnoi gang, allegedly shows two jail inmates, Mandeep Singh Toofan and Manmohan, lying the pool of blood inside jail premises. The video also shows police personnel present at the time and being silent spectator. Notably, Toofan and Manmohan were killed on 26 February. Inspector General of Police (IGP) Headquarters, Sukhchain Singh Gill, who was addressing a press conference at Punjab Police Headquarters here, has identified five jail officials— who were suspended and arrested are Jail Superintendent Iqbal Singh Brar, Additional Jail Superintendent Vijay Kumar, Assistant Jail Superintendent Harish Kumar, ASI Joginder Singh and ASI Harchand Singh. While the other two suspended jail officials include Additional Jail Superintendent Jaspal Singh Khaira and Head Constable Savinder Singh. A case FIR No. 102 has been registered under section 66 of the Information Technology Act, section 52 of the Prisons Act, sections 506 and 149 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) at Police Station Goindwal Sahib. Initially, the case was registered against jail inmates including Manpreet Singh alias Bhau, Sachin Bhiwani alias Sachin Chaudhary, Ankit Latti alias Ankit Serra, Kashish alias Kuldeep, Rajinder alias Joker, Hardeep Singh alias Mamma, Baldev Singh alias Nikku, Deepak alias Mundi and Malkit Singh alias Kita. The IGP said that following the investigations, police have nominated jail officials in this FIR for their negligence and apparent connivance with the jail inmates after video, which was shot on the day of incident, got leaked a few days later. Accused jail inmates will be brought on production warrant for further investigations, he added. He said that after this incident in the jail, Police and Jail authorities have already segregated the accused persons and shifted them to various different jails in the state. IGP Sukhchain Singh Gill said that Punjab Police have strict directions from the Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann led Punjab Government that if any government employee found negligent in duty should be dealt with iron hands. The video of the gang war between the murderers of Moosewala in Goindwal Jail in Punjab has surfaced and this has raised serious questions over jail security. These videos have been made by Sachin Bhiwani of Lawrence Gang. Apart from Ankit Sersa, his other fellow gangsters are also seen in this. All of them are celebrating the murder of gangster Jaggu Bhagwanpuria›s henchman Mandeep Toofan and Manmohan Singh Mohana. After the video surfaced, there has been a stir in the Punjab government regarding the use of mobiles in the jail. Police has started investigating the video. Sachin shows the dead bodies of Mandeep Toofan and Manmohan Mohana, who were thrown inside the Bhiwani jail. During this, the security personnel of the jail are also visible. But Sachin Bhiwani and his fellow gangsters are openly patting themselves by showing the dead bodies of both. The rest of Lawrence›s henchmen are assembled along with Sachin Bhiwani. In which he is celebrating killing Toofan and Mohana. They are also threatening that if we have killed Moosewala, we will not spare anyone. 6 days ago there was a gang war in Goindwal Jail between the henchmen of Lawrence and Jaggu. In which Mandeep Toofan and Mohana were killed while Keshav was seriously injured. In this case, the police had registered a murder case against Manpreet Bhau, Sachin Bhiwani, Rajinder Joker, Ankit Sersa, Kashish, Arshad Khan and Malkit Keeta. Goldie Brar wrote on Facebook after Jaggu›s henchmen were killed in the gang war in the jail that the Lawrence gang takes responsibility for the murder of Mohana Mansa and Mandeep Toofan in Goindwal jail. They were killed by our brothers Sachin Bhiwani, Ankit Sersa, Deepak Mundi, Manpreet Bhau, Kashish, Arshad Bikaner and Malkit Mama Keeta. He was Jaggu›s man. Goldie further wrote: He had beaten up our brother Manpreet Bhau Dhaipai two days ago at the behest of Jaggu. Today our brothers killed them on one side. This Jaggu had killed our brothers Rupa and Mannu in an encounter by setting a trap. However, the Punjab Police later termed it as fake.
