Punjab CM, Bhagwant Mann on Thursday, 2 March, met with Union Home Minister Amit Shah as he discussed the issue of drones and drugs on the Indian-Pakistan border. Apart from it, he also discussed about several other topics, the Punjab CM office revealed.

During their conversation, Mann also told Shah that the drug mafia is being given “protection” by Pakistan. The talk between the two lasted for about 40 minutes near the residence of Home Minister in the national capital. The two leaders discussed about the coordination between the Centre and the State to strengthen border security.

After the meeting, the CM took to his twitter and said, “We discussed the issue of drones and drugs on the border and the issue of shifting the barbed wire on the border was also discussed.”

As per a report by BSF,  last year, a total of 22 drones were captured by the jawans. In addition, in 2022, a total of 316 kg of drugs were seized by the BSF. Apart from it, the BSF  killed two pakistani intruders along with the Punjab border.

Earlier this year, the BSF informed that, “The troops of the Punjab Frontier have maintained an extremely high level of alertness and vigil. Resultantly, BSF has successfully detected and captured 22 drones and seized 316.988 kgs of heroin, 67 weapons, 850 rounds and killed two Pakistan intruders and apprehended 23 Pakistan nationals in different incidents.”
