Pune Porsche accident: The police sought teen's response

Amidst the ongoing Pune car accident investigation, the Pune police have made another arrest over the alleged tampering of the teen’s blood sample on Monday.

The name of the arrested accused is Atul Ghatkamble, who is also an employee of Sassoon Hospital.

According to Pune police commissioner Amitesh Kumar, the doctors of Sassoon Hospital had earlier replaced the juvenile’s blood samples with another one, and later, they threw the original sample in the hospital’s dustbin.

Further Kumar, announced, that the doctors had been arrested and different sections of IPC have been attached.

“On May 19, at around 11 am the blood sample that was taken at Sassoon Hospital was thrown in a dustbin of the hospital and the blood sample of another person was taken and sent to the forensic lab. CMO Srihari Harnor replaced this blood sample. During the investigation, we found Srihari Harnor replaced this on the instructions of the HOD Forensic Medicine Department of Sassoon, Ajay Tawre.” said Amitesh Kumar during press conference.

Later, the police commissioner also added that from the first report itself, it was understood that the doctor had cleared the teen of alcohol consumption. Subsequently, a second sample was taken and sent for DNA sampling. The report was then matched with the teen’s father.

Currently, the crime branch is actively searching for the individual whose blood sample was substituted by the doctors.

Earlier, on May 25, the crime branch detained grandfather of the minor accused in this case.

After his arrest, a separate FIR against him was registered under section 365 and 368.
