A property dealer was shot dead in Gaya, Bihar on Tuesday, when he was out on a morning walk, authorities revealed. The victim was later identified as Arun Paswan, who was the resident of Gandhi Nagar Road.

In a statement earlier, the Chandauti police station revealed that the victim was shot dead by an unidentified man who were waiting for him on Katari Hill Road. The spot was about 500 m away.

In an earlier conversation, Senior superintendent of Police of Gaya, Ashish Bharti, said that the criminals fired at least 4 shots at Arun. He was rushed to a nearby government hospital where doctors declared him dead. He further revealed that Arun hadn’t complained about a threat to his life in the past.

He furthermore added that the incident seemed to be a case of rivalry but he didn’t elaborate it any further. A special team has been constituted under the supervision of ASP, Bharat Soni to investigate the case.

Arun’s son, Raghav Paswan, revealed in a statement, “Apart from being a social activist, he was also a successful property dealer.” Further investigation in the case is underway.
