THE DETAILS OF ALL THE MATCHES ARE AS FOLLOWING:
The third season of the Centena Pro Tennis League started with a lot of excitement and glitz at DLTA Complex in R.K. Khanna Stadium, New Delhi. The opening ceremony of this much-awaited league was graced by chief guest Dr Anil Jain, AITA President and MP, Rajya Sabha in the presence of all the Eight teams having forty players. On this occasion he expressed his happiness by saying that this League will help in promotion of the Indian Tennis. The league marked it beginning with each team marching to the Central Court followed by the National Anthem and Theme song of the League sung by renowned Bollywood singer Sukhwinder Singh was also played out during the opening Ceremony.
The league consists of eight teams: Stag Babolat Yoddhas, DMG Crusaders, ProVeri Super Smashers, Sapphire Superstars, Indian Aviators, Bangalore Challengers, Sankara and Team Radiant. The matches are divided into five categories: Pro- Men 1, Next Gen, Women, Ex- Pro and Pro- Men 2. The matches began at 11:30 AM.
The matches were held in two courts: Centre court and Court 1. The first match was played between Indian Aviators and Sapphire Superstars. Ajay Malik played against Chirag Duhan in a Single Men’s match and it resulted in a victory for the Chirag by a score of 5-3. In Pro- Men 1 category match Sriram Balaji edged out Jeevan N in a thrilling match by 5-4.
In the Mixed Doubles with Women and Ex-pro categories partnered, Swarandeep Singh and Diva Bhatia vs Aditya Khanna and Riya Sachdeva. The last match of the first half at Centre court was secured by Indian Aviators by a score of 5-1.
Team Bangalore Challengers played against Stag Babolat Yoddhas. Challengers’ Aman Dahiya partnered with Sai Samhitha and Yoddhas’ Nishant Dabas and Vanshika Chaudhary played in a Mixed Doubles match resulting in a tiebreaker win for the Yoddhas by a score of 5-4. In Pro- Men 1 Category match between Professional Tennis players Niki Poonacha and Vijay Sundar Prashant the match was secured by Niki by a tiebreaker win with a score of 5-4.
