Washington [US], January 29 (ANI): Actor Priyanka Chopra Jonas on Friday announced ‘Anomaly’, her own hair care line.
The products will be launched on January 31 in the US and will start expanding to global markets later in the year.
The ‘Baywatch’ star hopped on to Instagram and shared her experience to come out with the hair products range.
Sharing that she feels surreal while introducing this brand to her fans, Chopra wrote, “This is ANOMALY. What a surreal moment to introduce you to the first brand I have ever created!!!.”
The ‘Fashion’ star asserted that she has been working on this range for the last 18 months.
“For the last 18 months I have worked alongside my partners at Maesa toward the day when we could share our labour of love with the world, and I can’t believe that time has finally arrived,” Chopra said, while announcing the brand on Instagram.
“I’ve tried a lot and learned a lot about haircare over the years…what gave me great hair days, what didn’t, and everything in between…and I have infused that into a collection of products that gives your hair the TLC it deserves,” he said.
The actor also shared that the formulas used in the products are vegan and clean, with high-performance ingredients, and the bottles are made from 100 pc plastic trash from our oceans and landfills. (ANI)

Varun Dhawan turns ‘Bhediya’ in latest Instagram post
Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], March 3 (ANI): A few days after Bollywood star announced his horror comedy ‘Bhediya’ with Kriti Sanon as co-lead, Bollywood star Varun Dhawan on Wednesday revealed that he is working hard for the film and shared a clip howling like a werewolf.
The ‘Student Of The Year’ star took to Instagram to post a video in which he is seen howling just like a wolf as he is about to board his private jet.
In the video, Dhawan is sporting a casual look as he donned a back T-shirt and a leather jacket, and a pair of denim. He accessorised his look with a pair of sunglasses and looked handsome as he sports a full-grown beard.
The video showcased Varun, as he listens to the person holding the camera counting 1, 2 and as soon as he says go, the ‘Kalank’ star starts howling as he looks high up in the sky and smile afterwards.
Taking to the captions, he wrote, “Woooo (a wolf emoticon) #BHEDIYA.”
Celebrity followers including Lara Dutta Bhupathi and more than 2 lakh followers liked the post, while many chimed into the comments section.
Arjun Kapoor left laughing with teary eyes emoticon.
Ayushmann Khurrana chimed into the comments section, poking fun on the star and wrote, “Bhediya re bhediya re mera dil chura ke layi jaaa” (adding laughing with teary eyes emoticon).
This horror-comedy drama will mark the ‘Badlapur’ star and ‘Heropanti’ star’s third collaboration with each other after sharing screen spaces in 2015 rom-com ‘Dilwale’ and 2019 ‘Kalank’.
‘Bhediya’ will bring together the dynamic duo of producer Dinesh Vijan and director Amar Kaushik, who also helmed the 2018 blockbuster movie ‘Stree’. Starring Kriti Sanon, Varun Dhawan, Abhishek Banerjee, and Deepak Dobriyal, the story is written by National Award Winner, Niren Bhatt who also wrote intriguing scripts for ‘Bala’, ‘Made In China’, ‘Wrong Side Raju’. Custom diet, lifestyle changes key to optimising mental health: Study
New York [US], March 3 (ANI): While a balanced diet is advisable to provide the body all the essential nutrients, customized diets and lifestyle changes could be key to optimising mental health, according to new research including faculty at Binghamton University, State University of New York.
“There is increasing evidence that diet plays a major role in improving mental health, but everyone is talking about a healthy diet,” said Begdache, an assistant professor of health and wellness studies at Binghamton University and co-author of a new paper in Nutrients.
“We need to consider a spectrum of dietary and lifestyle changes based on different age groups and gender,” she said. “There is not one healthy diet that will work for everyone. There is not one fix.”
Begdache, who is also a registered dietitian, believes that mental health therapies need to consider the differences in the degree of brain maturity between young (18-29 years old) and mature (30 years or older) adults, as well as the brain morphology among men and women.
She and her research team conducted an online survey to examine food intake, dietary practices, exercise and other lifestyle factors in these four subpopulations. Over a five-year period (2014-19), more than 2,600 participants completed the questionnaire after responding to social media posts advertising the survey. The team collected data at different time points and seasons and found important dietary and lifestyle contributors to mental distress — defined as anxiety and depression — in each of the groups.
Key findings of this study are:-
Significant dietary and lifestyle approaches to improve mental well-being among young women include daily breakfast consumption, moderate-to-high exercise frequency, low caffeine intake and abstinence from fast food.
Dietary and lifestyle approach to improve mental well-being among mature women include daily exercise and breakfast consumption, as well as a high intake of fruits with limited caffeine ingestion.
To improve the mental well-being of young men, dietary and lifestyle approaches include frequent exercise, moderate dairy consumption, high meat intake, as well as low consumption of caffeine and abstinence from fast food.
Dietary approaches to improve mental well-being among mature men include moderate intake of nuts.
Begdache and her team split the respondents into two age groups because human brain development continues into the late 20s. For young adults of both genders, quality of diet appears to have an impact on the developing brain.
“Young adults are still forming new connections between brain cells as well as building structures; therefore, they need more energy and nutrients to do that,” Begdache said.
As a result, young adults who consume a poor-quality diet and experience nutritional deficiencies may suffer from a higher degree of mental distress.
Age is also the reason high caffeine consumption was associated with mental distress in both young men and young women.
“Caffeine is metabolized by the same enzyme that metabolizes the sex hormones testosterone and estrogen, and young adults have high levels of these hormones,” Begdache said. “When young men and women consume high levels of caffeine, it stays in their system for a long time and keeps stimulating the nervous system, which increases stress and eventually leads to anxiety.”
The team also split respondents based on biological sex, since brain morphology and connectivity differ between men and women. Put simply, the male brain is “wired” to enable perception and coordination, whereas the female brain is built to support analysis and intuition. Begdache and her team believe these differences may influence nutritional needs.
“I have found it in my multiple studies so far, that men are less likely to be affected by diet than women are,” said Begdache. “As long as they eat a slightly healthy diet they will have good mental well-being. It’s only when they consume mostly fast food that we start seeing mental distress.
“Women, on the other hand, really need to be consuming a whole spectrum of healthy food and doing exercise in order to have positive mental well-being,” she added. “These two things are important for mental well-being in women across age groups.”
According to Begdache, current recommendations for food intake are all based on physical health; there are no recommendations for mental health. She hopes that will change — and that her work will play a role in making those changes.
“I hope to see more people doing research in this area and publishing on the customization of a diet based on age and gender,” she said.
“I hope that one day, institutions and governments will create dietary recommendations for brain health.” (ANI)

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], March 3 (ANI): The makers of the upcoming horror-drama ‘Roohi’ on Wednesday dropped a dance number, ‘Nadiyon Par’ featuring Janhvi Kapoor as she sets the dance floor on fire.
The ‘Gunjan Saxena’ star took to Instagram and shared the video of the peppy dance number. The song is a rendition of ‘Let the Music Play’, the famous English track by Shamur that thumped the whole nation.
The two minute-twenty-seven-seconds video showcases a dazzling display of Kapoor’s moves. The actor sizzles and shines in the latest version of the song. Dressed in shimmering gold, Kapoor looks drop-dead gorgeous as she grooves to the foot-tapping number. Adding to her sexy avatar, the melody is sure to cause mayhem on dance floors all over.
Composers Sachin- Jigar says, “Let the Music Play is a cult tune, and the opportunity to present this song to a new generation was irresistible! Nadiyon Paar absorbs the elements that made the original so special and sprinkles a bit of Roohi’s magic, to bring that extra tadka.”
Apart from composing the track, Sachin – Jigar also helms the mic for the updated version, singing it along with Shamur, Rashmeet Kaur and IP Singh. The lyrics are penned by Shamur, IP Singh and Jigar Saraiya.
While retaining the funky essence of the original tune, the number also gives itself a fresh zing for gen-next.
‘Roohi’, which is the first major Bollywood release post lockdown, was set to hit the cinemas in the first week of June last year, but the film had to be postponed due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
The upcoming horror-comedy will also become the first film to arrive in theatres after the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting allowed cinema halls nationwide to operate at full capacity from February 1 with COVID-19 safety protocols put in place.
The film is set to hit the theatres on March 11, this year, and is based on the lines of the 2018 hit film ‘Stree’, which featured Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao in lead roles. (ANI)
Dolly Parton gets shot of COVID-19 vaccine she helped fund
Washington [US], March 3 (ANI): Legendary country singer Dolly Parton has received her first dose of the coronavirus vaccine.
The 75-year-old singer took to Twitter and posted a photo and video of herself at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center getting the injection from a medical professional.
The ‘Jolene’ singer captioned the video, “Dolly gets a dose of her own medicine. I’m finally going to get my vaccine, I’m so excited!” Parton exclaimed. I’ve been waiting a while, I’m old enough to get it and I’m smart enough to get it.”
Parton then sings a ‘vaccine’ version of her famed hit, ‘Jolene’. She is later seen putting on a blue mask as the doctor enters the video to administer the shot. Parton then bravely takes the shot without a flinch.
According to Fox News, back in April 2020, Parton announced that she was donating USD 1 million to researchers at the university to help develop a vaccine.
According to the New England Journal of Medicine, the donation made by Parton and the work done by researchers at Vanderbilt during trial phases directly led to Moderna announcing it had produced a coronavirus vaccine that is nearly 95 per cent effective. (ANI)
‘Back to basics’, says Vicky Kaushal as he shares glimpse from horse riding session
Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], March 3 (ANI): Bollywood star Vicky Kaushal on Wednesday treated fans with a glimpse from his horse riding session.
The ‘Masaan’ actor shared a video on Instagram in which he could be seen riding a horse on a humongous ground.
The short clip showcased the Sun in the background with Kaushal sitting easily on the saddle and riding a horse smoothly.
The ‘Uri: The Surgical Strike’ actor captioned this video as, “Walk and trot, back to basics.”
It seems like Kaushal is indulging in the horse riding session in order to prepare for his superhero role in the film ‘The Immortal Ashwatthama’.
More than 1.7 million fans liked the post on the photo-sharing platform while many chimed into the comments section to laud the actor’s dedication to his work.
Kaushal has been preparing for his upcoming role for a long time. He is putting in long hours at the gym to make sure he gets the physique right.
