Being an in-charge of Uttar Pradesh, there was speculation that Priyanka might shift to Lucknow and the house of relative late Sheila Kaul was readied for her. However, The daily Guardian has learnt from reliable sources that she is going to reside at DLF Aralia, Sector-42, Gurugram, Haryana. As she has Z Plus security cover so all the security arrangements are being beefed up in the sector she will reside. CRPF provides her round-the-clock security with the coordination of state police. According to sources, a security check has already been done by the CRPF when she informed the agency about her shifting plans. Most household goods have been shifted to Gurugram. Her new residence will not become a political centre as she uses her brother Rahul Gandhi’s residence at Tuglak Road for her political activities.

On 1July, the Union Housing and Urban development Ministry issued her a one-month notice to vacate 35, Lodi Estate. Such belongings have been shifted to 10 Janpath which is her mother and Lok Sabha MP Sonia Gandhi’s official residence. Some of her belongings have been shifted to a farmhouse at Mehrauli, Delhi.
Her stay in Haryana may not last long as, according to the source quoted above, a suitable house has been finalised in Lutyens’ Delhi near Sujan Singh Park. Rent agreement and other paper works are under progress. This house requires some repair work which is underway. The repair work may take a few weeks and if everything goes according to plan, she will be back in the Lutyens soon.
