New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Ladakh on July 26 to mark the 25th anniversary of Kargil Vijay Diwas. He will visit the Kargil War Memorial in Drass to commemorate India’s victory over Pakistan in the 1999 Kargil War.
Details Of The Visit
Lt Governor Brig (Retd) B D Mishra is overseeing the preparations for the Prime Minister’s visit. On July 23, the Special Protection Group (SPG) will arrive to coordinate with the Army, police, and civil administration for the visit.
On July 24, Lt Governor Mishra will inspect the arrangements at the Kargil War Memorial. The celebrations for the 25th anniversary of Kargil Vijay Diwas will take place from July 24 to July 26 in Drass, Kargil district.
Schedule for July 26
- Morning: PM Modi will land at the Drass Brigade Helipad and will be welcomed by army officials.
- Before the Ceremony: He will rest in a green room at the helipad.
- At the Memorial: Modi will participate in a wreath-laying ceremony at the Kargil War Memorial and visit the ‘Shaheed Marg’ (Wall of Fame). He will also sign the visitor’s book and tour the Kargil War Museum, where he will see various war artifacts.
