Ellenabad by-poll is set to take place on October 30, 2021 and every faction continues to be on toes to emerge winner on the segment. In this series, the political stalwarts are leaving no stone unturned to get the victory. In this political battle, clans of a prominent political Chautala family are eyeball to eyeball in the election indirectly or directly to some extent. Abhay Chautala, brother of Ajay Singh Chautala and INLD Stalwart has been fielded from the seat against the BJP contestants Govind Kanda and Pawan Beniwal on the ticket of BJP-JJP and the Congress respectively.

Ajay Singh Chautala— National president of the Jannayak Janta Party (JJP) which was formed ahead of assembly elections held in 2019 following the rift in Chautala family— attacked his Brother saying that Abhay had promised not to enter assembly “until the farm laws were withdrawn”, but he is putting efforts to win elections at any cost. Taking a dig at his brother, Ajay further said that Ellenabad which is known as INLD’s bastion, has shattered. Abhay had claimed earlier not to visit the voters during but contrary to what he had uttered, he is continuously visiting the voters from 6 am to 12 pm late-night every day. Thus, it clearly indicates that he is scared of losing his seat, Ajay added.

Besides, he is neither leaving any chance even to attack his father OP Chautala saying that at the age of 86, he is visiting the doorsteps of the voters to win the election as he had asked the voters to vote in support of Abhay for last time in elections held in 2019. Moreover, one more thing that puts everyone in a state of surprise is the choice of the words of Ajay for his father OP Chautala.

Contrary to Chautala brothers, Gopal Kanda, brother of the BJP contestant Govind Kanda, is canvassing in support of his brother maintaining a distance from his business spread in several parts of the country, particularly Goa. It is worth mentioning that the Chautala family and the Gopal Kanda did not share a good relationship prior to the separation of the Chautala family but things have changed a lot after that.

In this series, it is relevant to mention that uncle-nephew duos including Bharat Singh-Pawan singh and Abhay and Dushyant-Digvijay from the Congress and the JJP parties respectively have become the talk of the town in view of the forthcoming election. Bharat Singh who was believed to be upset with his nephew and the Congress party earlier after he was denied a ticket and Pawan was fielded in the election by the party, has come up in support of his nephew Pawan Singh and continues to canvas to get his nephew victory . It is pertinent to mention that prior to this, Bharat Singh and nephew Pawan were not on good terms as both had fought the last assembly poll against each other on the ticket of different parties and could not survive the seat against INLD’s Abhay Singh Chautala.

While contrary to this, Dushyant Chautala, Deputy Chief Minister and son of Ajay Chautala, along with his younger brother Digvijay Singh Chautala continue to take on his uncle Abhay Singh Chautala saying that the INLD has lost its roots in the state politics and most likely to lose the battle. Thus, Ellenabad by-election which has turned in to multi-cornered fight, has become a do-or-die election for all parties, as well as the stalwarts belonging to different factions and a dominant political family leaving all of us in state of speculations.

In wake of the ongoing political scenario, it is going to be an acid test for Abhay Chautala and Pawan Beniwal who are trying their luck for the fourth and the third time respectively in a row in the Ellenabad Assembly segment. Beniwal had contested the previous two polls on BJP ticket but ended up second on both occasions.
