Just a day ahead of the result of the Punjab Assembly elections, all parties have once again pulled up their socks to formulate a strategy to form the government or form an alliance. Now the ruling Congress government has also announced to convene an important meeting just after the results. This will be the first meeting of the Congress Legislature Party of all new MLAs after winning from their respective seats.

State Congress President Navjot Singh Sidhu has called the meeting of the legislature party at Congress Bhawan at 5 pm on Thursday in which all the elected MLAs have been asked to participate.

Sidhu has been meeting the central leaders before the election results as exit polls predicted a grim picture for the Congress in Punjab and Aam Aadmi Party is looking close to majority. In such a situation, the real equations will start forming only after the results. The process of defection of MLAs can also start. That is why the Congress has already called the MLAs for the meeting.

If we talk about the results of the exit polls, then out of 117 seats, the Congress seems to be getting only 22 to 28 seats. On the other hand, Aam Aadmi Party can win 51 to 61 seats, which is very close to the majority. As many as 59 seats are needed for a majority in Punjab. In the exit polls, Akali Dal is expected to get 20 to 26 seats and BJP alliance 7 to 13 seats. However, the real picture will be clear only from the results on Thursday.
