Powerful half-centuries by Marcus Stoinis, Nicholas Pooran and Ayush Badoni’s quickfire 30 guided Lucknow Super Giants to one-wicket win in last ball thriller against Royal Challengers Bangalore in their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 match here at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium on Monday. For LSG Stoinis slammed 65 off 30 while Pooran played a blistering knock of 62 in 19 balls. For RCB, Wayne Parnell and Mohammed Siraj bagged three-wicket respectively while Harshal Patel claimed two. Defending a huge total of 213, Mohammed Siraj drew the first blood in the game as he dismissed Kyle Mayers for a duck in the first over of the innings.
Wayne Parnell then delivered some good balls and stuck twice, dismissing Deepak Hooda and Krunal Pandya in the 4th over of the game.
New batter Marcus Stoinis then opened his hands and hammered Harshal Patel for 17 runs, slamming one six and two back-to-back fours in the 8th over of the game. Stoinis continued his red-hot form as he gathered 16 runs off Karn Sharma’s over with the help of two fours and one six. The duo of captain KL Rahul and Stoinis brought up their 50-run partnership stand in 30 runs in the 9th over of the game. Stoinis slammed a much-needed half-century in 25 balls. The Australian all-rounder hammered Shahbaz Ahmed for two sixes and gathered 15 runs in the 10th over of the game.
Karn Sharma brought RCB back into the game, dismissing Stoinis in red-hot form. Stoinis returned after scoring 65 off 30 deliveries. Siraj then gave Lucknow a big blow as he removed captain KL Rahul for 18.
Ayush Badoni then came out to bat at the crease with Nicholas Pooran. The duo of Pooran and Badoni slammed Karn Sharma for 20 runs slamming two sixes and one four.
