As the Delhi Assembly elections near, allegations of vote-buying tactics have surfaced in Patparganj, with Congress candidate Anil Chaudhary accusing BJP’s Ravindra Negi of distributing liquor and meat to influence voters. This has sparked a probe by the East Delhi Police.
Congress Candidate Alleges Unfair Election Practices
Anil Chaudhary, the Congress candidate from Patparganj, raised concerns on Monday regarding what he claims is an attempt by the BJP to manipulate the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections. Chaudhary accused BJP’s Ravindra Negi of distributing liquor and meat to sway voters.
In a video shared on social media platform X, Chaudhary showed a plastic bag filled with meat and raised doubts about the fairness of the elections. “Today, meat and liquor are being used to buy votes from the poor. Like AAP, the BJP is also buying votes. Is this election fair?” Chaudhary questioned.

The Indian Youth Congress (IYC) also weighed in on the allegations, accusing both the BJP and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) of engaging in vote-buying tactics out of fear of defeat. The IYC shared the claim that Ravindra Negi was caught distributing liquor and chicken in the Patparganj constituency.
Following the allegations, the East Delhi Police took immediate action by sending a Flying Surveillance Team (FST) to investigate the claims. The FST confirmed that a complaint had been lodged, and they are in the process of verifying the facts. Necessary action will be taken once the facts are confirmed, according to a post by the DCP East Delhi on X.
