Swati Maliwal Criticizes AAP Over Delhi Elections, Shares Mahabharat Reference

As the counting of votes for the Delhi Assembly elections continues, initial trends suggest that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is moving towards a majority. Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is trailing behind. Amid all these developments, AAP’s Rajya Sabha MP, Swati Maliwal, has stirred a controversy with her recent social media post using a powerful Mahabharat reference to target her party.

Swati Maliwal’s Mahabharat Reference

Swati Maliwal has been vocal in raising all the issues that are there among the common mass of Delhi. All through the election campaign, she continually criticized the AAP government for not being able to meet the expectations of the people. Now, with the election results taking shape, Maliwal has once again expressed her displeasure with the way her party had handled matters.

Maliwal recently posted an image of the disrobing scene of Draupadi from Mahabharat on social media. No caption, but a clear symbolic message was sent. The humiliation of Draupadi in the image was seen by many as a direct jab at AAP’s governance.

The fact that she posted an image rather than words has conveyed the strength of her displeasure. Comparing the scenario with one such famous episode of Mahabharat where Draupadi was insulted in court seems to have sent across a message of this AAP government also having experienced something of this kind.

A Tense Moment in Delhi Politics

The internal squabbles within AAP over Maliwal’s social media post have raised eyebrows at the time when AAP seems to be unable to catch up with the BJP in electoral results. The vote count continues, and it is expected to finalize the results soon, but the Delhi political climate remains charged, and an anathema statement from Maliwal added fuel to the fire.

The case with AAP is going to get tougher and tougher as more leaders express their dissatisfaction, with the BJP in a strong position to garner its majority.
