Slowly, they will disappear: Tripura CM Manik Saha on INDI Alliance

Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha expressed that it’s time for the INDIA alliance to diminish gradually as people have grown cognizant of their strategies intended to bewilder the public.

During an election rally in Fatikroy on Tuesday, Saha remarked that 28 political parties had united to establish the “INDI alliance,” also recognized as the save Constitution committee.

“Slowly, they will disappear. All these efforts are merely tactics to confuse the public. They speak of democracy, yet during the emergency period, democracy was compromised. Many people were killed during the regimes of CPI (M) and Congress. Now, they have come together, claiming to protect the Constitution. These 28 political parties have united to protect their interests,” he added.

The Chief Minister also stressed that what Prime Minister Narendra Modi has achieved in the past decade is merely a glimpse of what is to follow.

“No one can halt the progress of the double-engine government. A wave of development is sweeping across the nation, and leaders from other countries show respect to PM Modi by referring to him as Mr. Boss. BJP consistently prioritizes development and works for the welfare of women, the poor, farmers, and youth. Previously, an unstable situation prevailed. However, after Narendra Modi assumed office as Prime Minister in 2014, the country’s trajectory changed rapidly. This Lok Sabha election is crucial for safeguarding the nation. Significant improvements have been made in law and order in Tripura,” he said.

BJP state president Rajib Bhattacharya, Minister Sudhangshu Das, and youth leader Nabadal Banik were also in attendance at the event.

Meanwhile, Tripura registered the highest voter turnout at approximately 80.46 per cent, with West Bengal following closely at 77.57 per cent. In response to Tripura’s high turnout, the INDIA bloc in the state has urged the Election Commission to annul the polls for the West Tripura Lok Sabha constituency and the Ramnagar assembly constituency. They cited widespread allegations of electoral malpractice, including booth jamming, intimidation, and proxy voting, as reasons for their request.

The first phase of Lok Sabha elections occurred on April 19, with the subsequent six phases scheduled on various dates until June 1 to elect the 543 members of the 18th Lok Sabha. Results are slated to be announced on June 4.
