The Opposition MPs on Wednesday led by Congress staged a walkout from Rajya Sabha after Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that these people are such who are used to run the government on auto pilot and remote pilot and they don’t believe in working, they just know how to wait.
The Opposition MPs led by Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge staged a walk out from Rajya Sabha after Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar refused to grant him permission to intervene during the Prime Minister’s address.
The Opposition’s walkout followed the Prime Minister’s swipe at former Congress chief and Rajya Sabha MP Sonia Gandhi.
“These people are such who are used to run the government on auto pilot and remote pilot. They don’t believe in working, they just know how to wait,” he said.
Following the jibe at Sonia Gandhi by the Prime Minister the opposition MPs walked out of the House.
The Prime Minister on sever occasions had touted Sonia Gandhi of running the Manmohan Singh-led UPA government from behind the scenes.
As the Prime Minister continued speaking, members of the Opposition were heard demanding that Kharge, who is also the Leader of the Opposition in the Upper House be allowed to intervene. The Chair, however, did not respond.
