JJP Asserts Claim on 2 more Haryana Lok Sabha Seats

After the resignation of BJP MP Brijendra Singh from Hisar Lok Sabha seat of Haryana, the attitude of Jannayak Janata Party (JJP) has changed. The ruling ally JJP has now staked claim on 2 seats for the Lok Sabha elections. The party has sought Bhiwani-Mahendragarh Lok Sabha seat along with Hisar.

However, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is not at all ready for this. BJP sources say that since JJP is an ally of BJP in the state, there is a discussion going on to give one Lok Sabha seat to JJP at the state as well as the central level. After the input received from the state, some leaders of the party have given their support to give Sirsa seat to JJP. The party is now brainstorming about this, there is a possibility that the BJP-JJP alliance may also be discussed in the BJP Central Election Committee meeting to be held on March 11.

Keeping in view the possibilities of alliance in the Lok Sabha elections, Deputy CM Dushyant Chautala has left for Delhi. There is a possibility that before the meeting of BJP’s Central Election Committee, JJP may have a meeting with BJP National President JP Nadda and Home Minister Amit Shah in Delhi regarding the alliance. JJP will talk to big leaders of the Center regarding Hisar and Bhiwani-Mahendragarh seats.

JJP is making a strong claim on Hisar Lok Sabha seat after former Union Minister Birendra Singh’s MP son Brijendra Singh left BJP and joined Congress. The reason for this is also that Deputy CM Dushyant Chautala has been the MP from this seat. However, this time he has lost the election from the same seat to BJP’s Brijendra Singh. Earlier in 2014, he had won the Lok Sabha elections from INLD. Apart from this, the Deputy CM is also an MLA from Uchana seat which falls under the Lok Sabha constituency.

Therefore, JJP is considering this seat as strong. There is a possibility that apart from the Deputy CM, his younger brother Digvijay Chautala is likely to contest elections from this seat.

Apart from Haryana BJP, in the feedback given by Biplab Kumar Deb, in-charge and former CM of Tripura, it has been said that BJP does not need an alliance with any party in the Lok Sabha elections. It has also been told that till now preparations have been made for all the 10 Lok Sabha elections by the organization and the government.

After this, now the responsibility has been given by the Center to Rajnath Singh and Anurag Thakur to resolve this entire issue. Party sources say that these two central leaders may soon hold a meeting with JJP leaders in Haryana or Delhi.
