The optics are critical. The attack on Parliament is serious. Who were the people behind calling the shots. It’s time to display maturity as the Government and BJP has done unlike sheer immaturity and ill motives of the Opposition, says BJP national vice president M Chuba Ao.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi ultimately had to speak out. Modi ji pointed out that none should resort to ‘squabbling’ over the issue of smoke attack in Parliament the temple of democracy in India. On Dec 18, ‘lack of discipline’ was pulled up and erring MPs were suspended in both the Houses. The security of Parliament is linked to national security and hence the opposition parties were expected to treat the issue with more sincerity.
The opposition parties apparently do not want to sit in Parliament as winners and losers in the context of just concluded assembly elections in five states.Of course, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and others have blamed the Parliament ‘security breach’ on ‘unemployment and inflation’. This is an atrocious argument which would justify urban-Naxalism and nullify non-violent protest or Dharna politics.
Rahul’s statement means a protesting younger generation can jump in Parliament to terrorize the law-makers. Imagine how would have security apparatus reacted that day had Prime Minister Narendra Modi was present in the House.
“The gravity of the incident that happened in Parliament should not be underestimated. Lok Sabha Speaker (Om Birla) is taking the necessary steps with full seriousness,” the Prime Minister has said.
In a brief media interaction, Home Minister Shri Amit Shah ji too had made it clear that there is a need for a probe and a Home Ministry panel is already seized of the matter. Shah ji also said there was a certain ‘lapse’.
In other words, the government and the top BJP leaders are not running away from fact. But the Congress and Opposition parties are desperate and their frustration is well reflected in their conduct.Suspension of MPs is unfortunate but as the Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar said the opposition parties had virtually committed a crime against national interest, that is Bharat.
Now going into details, one can point out the Congress hypocrisy. Adhir Rajan Chowdhury from West Bengal and Congress leader in Lok Sabha initially said the matter was ‘serious’ and was akin to attack on Parliament. But ever since the ‘truths’ related to the six accused and their complicity with the Congress camp and other opposition parties including Trinamool Congress came to light, we find there is a change in their stance. Ultimately on Sunday, Dec 17th that is four days after the Dec 13th incident, Congress party’s supreme leader Rahul Gandhi said inflation and unemployment were responsible for such episodes. Poor thing. He is justifying the mishap and is almost turning his grand old and historic party into a so-called “Left-Liberal pro Maoists” NGO which has scant regards for the sense of propriety for a political party of the status of the Congress party.
The Congress desperation is also accompanied by a gradual transition in the party and the visible tilt towards a communists’ culture. This started in the Congress camp ever since it lost the 2014 polls. But even after nine and half years and having lost power in number of states and in the centre twice, the Congress has not learned their lessons. The headache is theirs, and as BJP Karyakartas we are least bothered.
In fact, it will not be erroneous to state that even people of India are not bothered by the politics of negativity of the opposition parties. Objective readers must also understand that the mandate in three Hindi heartland states came after the Congress and other opposition parties have come together and tried to form a so-called new alliance. That they had to change the name from ‘UPA’ tells a different story. The regional parties are not quite keen to be part of the ‘United Progressive Alliance (UPA)’ as this combine was at the receiving end of several corruption charges. The opposition parties and their ecosystem have been also trying to spread a ‘lie’ that while BJP was a strong party at the national level, the Congress and regional parties were ‘doing well and could gain grounds’ in the states.
This argument too has been rejected. This myth has been busted. Politically the Congress leaders are again not able to see what they should have diagnosed long back. Or is it a case of will full default? In the last 15 years or so, while the BJP has returned to power in many states and even regional parties such as AAP and Trinamool Congress also could achieve these milestones. But not the Congress! The grand old party is unable to retain power in states essentially because they fail people and they indulge in gross corruption. This is the message of the mandate in Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan; whereas we could return to power in Madhya Pradesh and even in 2021 and 2022; the BJP was ‘re-elected’ in key states including Uttar Pradesh and Assam.
My party has been able to achieve record wins in states such as Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh. Even in Mizoram and Telangana despite limitations, we have done well. In fact, there was a record increase in BJP’s vote percentage in Telangana. too. This shows that the BJP is once again going to register a historic victory in the 2024 elections.
