Abiding by the directions of the State Election Commission, campaigning for the Ellenabad by-poll came to an end in evening on Wednesday—72 hours ahead of voting to be held on October 30.

Though, all contestants and their party leaders can get involved in door-to-door campaigning. Ashok Tanwar, former Congress state president and founder of Apna Bharat Morcha has extended support to Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) contestant Abhay Chautala which is likely to strengthen his positions. In wake of this, it led to heated political climate putting other party candidates in a state of disparity to some extent. Political experts are of the opinion that the by-poll has been converted into multi-cornered fight and all candidates are neck to neck which has made them to put their best.

The Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar along with the BJP state president OP Dhankhar and other party leaders have been fielded for canvassing. Manohar Lal continues to canvass saying that if voters come ahead in support of his party candidate Govind Kanda then the government will not leave any stone unturned for the betterment of Ellenabad.

Apart from this, the senior Congress leaders namely Bhupender Singh Hooda and the state party president Kumari Seleja are conducting public meetings in favour of their candidate Pawan Beniwal. Even, Seleja is staying in the Ellenabad constituency for a long time and addressing voters saying that the ruling faction failed to do anything for people of area.

While OP Chautala, INLD supremo is bearing the responsibility of campaigning for his son and the party candidate Abhay Singh Chautala. In this series, the farmers sitting on protest against three contentious agriculture laws are in support of INLD contestant stating that ruling faction failed to fulfill their expectations. In continuation to this, the Kisan leader Rakesh Tikait addressing voters appealed them to cast their vote in support of Abhay Chautala as he is the sole legislators who resigned against the agriculture laws.

Political experts continue to say that farmers will play crucial role in forthcoming battle. Farmers constitute a sizable chunk of vote bank and thus, they are in a role of game changer. In view of this, all parties are on toes to woo the voters as well as farmers particularly. But the agrarian community in the area is believed to be against the ruling faction due to agricultural laws which led to increase the problems of the BJP-JJP contestant.
