Police have arrested at least eight people for sticking “Modi Hatao, Desh Bachao” posters in different parts of Ahmedabad. The arrest took place a day after the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) started a poster campaign against PM Modi across the nation.

Ahmedabad police said a case has been lodged and further investigation into the matter is going on.

Objectionable posters were put up across Ahmedabad by AAP workers  in an unauthorised manner, as per Ahmedabad police reported.

Gujarat AAP chief Isudan Gadhvi said the arrested workers are from the AAP party. He accused the saffron party of dictatorship and claimed that the arrest is a sign that the party is scared.

Isudan Gadhvi went on to say that several AAP workers were sent to jail in Gujarat under various sections of the IPC regarding the posters of ‘Modi hatao desh bachao!’ This is the real sign of fear of Modi and the BJP. “Do whatever you want, but Aam Aadmi Party workers are adamant to fight,” Gadhvi tweeted.

The Aam Aadmi Party started the ‘Modi Hatao, Desh Bachao’ campaign in 11 languages all over the country. Apart from English, Hindi and Urdu posters have been printed in several other languages, such as Gujarati, Punjabi, Telugu, Bengali, Oriya, Kannada, Malayalam, and Marathi.

A huge number of posters against PM Modi were put up on walls in different parts of Delhi last week; the police took the matter seriously and registered 49 FIRs. Six people were arrested in this connection; two of them owned a printing press.
