Derabassi police have succeeded in arresting two brothers who snatched mobile phones from passersby. The police have seized five mobile phones along with a Bullet motorcycle recovered from the accused.

A case has been registered against both the accused, and further action has started.

According to the information received, ASI Nathi Ram, who is investigating the case, stated that on Thursday, Anoop Kundal, a resident of Amardeep Colony, Derabassi, filed a complaint with the police. He reported that he was coming to Derabassi on foot while listening to his phone, and during this time, two youths came from behind on a motorcycle, snatched his mobile phone, and ran away.

The police registered a case based on his complaint and began an investigation. The day after the incident, both individuals were seen roaming on Gulabgarh Road, after which the police arrested them along with the Bullet motorcycle.

During interrogation, the accused confessed to having committed seven incidents of mobile phone theft so far. The police have also recovered five mobile phones from their possession. The two accused arrested by the police have been identified as Balwinder Kumar (21) and Surinder Kumar (23), sons of Ramesh Kumar, residents of Banur. The police have registered a case against both the accused and have started further action.
