Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has recently suspended twelve rebels in disciplinary action on which Chief Minister Rajasthan, Ashok Gehlot took a dig and said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led party has “changed too”.

Highlighting the rebelled MLAs in various states CM Gehlot said, “At least 33 MLAs in Gujarat and 21 in Himachal have rebelled. PM Modi’s party is not the same as it was, it has changed too, and people have started speaking up.”

Earlier, 12 MLAs filed their nominations as independent candidates after being denied tickets by the ruling party, and later they were suspended by the BJP in the upcoming Gujarat Assembly elections.

Ahead of Assembly elections, this is the second list of rebels who have been suspended and on Sunday seven were suspended.

Talking about the Congress Party performance in Gujarat Gehlot on 21 November said the people of Gujarat are “agitated” with BJP and in the upcoming Gujarat Assembly polls party is doing well.

“Congress will do well in these elections because the mood of the public is against BJP for mismanaging COVID and the economy. Our party is looking at winning 125 seats and we are well on course to do that. Opposition to the BJP government this time wasn’t there the last time. People are agitated. The entire country saw the mismanagement during COVID, especially in the state which was strong even before independence,” Gehlot said.

Moreover, the Assembly election in Gujarat will be held on 1 December and 5 December and votes will be counted on 8 December.

However, for 27 years BJP party is in the power and Narendra Modi is the longest-serving chief minister of the state. In 2017 BJP won 99 seats out of 182 seats.
