With Prime Minister Narendra Modi scheduled to visit Gujarat on 30 October, three days before the assembly byelections, the BJP leaders believe that it might benefit the party in the bypolls.

PM Modi will be visiting Gujarat after a gap of nine months. He will be inaugurating India’s first seaplane services in Kevadia during his visit on 30 October.

He had visited the state last February during the US President Donald Trump’s trip to Ahmedabad. A grand event had been organized at Motera Stadium then.

While the state administration is gearing up for PM’s visit to Gujarat, BJP state leaders are considering this tour as a significant development from the point of view of assembly byelections. Gujarat’s eight assembly seats will be going to bypolls on November 3. Therefore, BJP leaders are of the view that PM’s presence just two days before voting in the state will send out a message to the voters.

BJP sources told The Daily Guardian that a large number of party leaders are currently campaigning for the bypolls, but the desired momentum is missing due to the absence of star campaigners such as PM Modi and Amit Shah. But PM’s Gujarat visit happening at the right time will be creating an impact.” On the occasion of Sardar Patel’s birth anniversary on 31 October, PM Modi will visit the Statue of Unity to pay homage to him and inaugurate various projects in Kevadia.
