PM Modi to attend Ram temple’s bhoomi pujan in Ayodhya on 5 Aug

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be accompanied by RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath; the bhoomi pujan will be done by priests from Kashi.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend ‘bhoomi pujan’ for the grand Ram temple in Ayodhya on 5 August and the foundation stone of the temple will be also laid in his presence. He is likely to be there from 11 am to 1.10 pm. Along with the PM, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will also attend the ceremony. Prayers and other related ceremonies will commence from 8 pm at the site where the temple will be built.

Earlier, Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth KshetraTrust had proposed 3 or 5 August to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) as possible dates for “bhoomi pujan” and latter was chosen. The ‘bhoomi pujan’ will be done by priests from Kashi.

Mahant Nritya Gopal Das, president of Ram Mandir Trust, wrote a letter to PM Modi to come to Ayodhya and lay the foundation of Ram temple construction, not by virtual medium or video conferencing. To make this moment historic and memorable, there will be a vigorous exercise to brand the event to ensure everyone›s enthusiastic participation.

The foundation of the temple will be laid in the ‘Abhijit Muhurat’ of ‘Sarvartha Siddhi Yoga’. The PM will install a copper urn as part of foundation worship of the Ram temple in accordance with Vedic tradition. Water, five diamond gems, ‘sarvaushadhi’, emeralds, rubies, gold and brass will be kept along with Ganga water in the copper urn containing holy articles from various pilgrimage spots. Idols of ‘Sheshnag’ (silver serpent), ‘Kurma’ avatar (tortoise reincarnation of Lord Vishnu) will also be installed in the foundation. According to Vedic rituals, five rocks named Nanda, Bhadra, Jaya, Rikta and Poorna will be worshiped after establishing the ‘kalash’ (sacred water vessel), which should precede formal construction of the temple by installing all needed materials in the foundation.

The Ram temple will be 161-ft high and now five domes will be built instead of three. “During the discussion on the temple’s design, it was decided that it would be modelled on the basis of the design proposed by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad, however, its length, width, and height will be increased,” Champat Rai, a member of the Ram Janmabhoomi Teertha Kshetra Trust, told The Daily Guardian.

Advocate for Hindu Mahasabha in the Supreme Court, Hari Shankar Jain also added that 5 August 2020 would be a historical day for all Hindus and all those who believed in rule of law and restoration of religious places trampled by invaders in the past. We were eagerly waiting for ‘bhoomi poojan’ of the temple of Lord Ram at his birthplace, he added.

The work of levelling the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi complex has been going on since 11 May. In addition to the statues built on more than a dozen stone pillars, a large number of fragmented statues of deities, carved Shivling and door frame, etc, have been found. A well has also been found below one of the places where the structure had three domes. Apart from this, many important relics associated with the silver throne and Ramdarbar have been found from many places.

“The struggle for the construction of the temple was fought for many years. That auspicious moment has come. Now the construction work of the grand and divine temple will begin. There is immense happiness in the people of saint society,” Hanuman Gadhi Mahant San Raju Das told The Daily Guardian.
