Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate Boeing’s state-of-the-art Global Engineering and Technology Center campus, situated near Devanahalli on the outskirts of the city. This colossal project, built for Rs 1,600 crore, is Boeing’s largest investment outside the United States, spanning 43 acres.
The Boeing India Engineering and Technology Centre (BIETC) at Hightech Defense and Aerospace Park is poised to become a key hub for collaboration with startups, private enterprises, and the Indian government. The campus aims to foster innovation and contribute to the development of cutting-edge products and services for the global aerospace and defense industry.
Additionally, Prime Minister Modi will launch the ‘Boeing Sukanya Programme,’ designed to enhance female participation in India’s aviation sector. This initiative aims to facilitate the entry of more girls into the industry by providing opportunities to learn crucial skills in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) fields. The program will establish STEM labs at 150 locations, sparking interest in STEM careers among young girls. Furthermore, scholarships will be extended to women pursuing pilot training, promoting gender diversity in the aviation sector.
This inauguration signifies a major milestone in India’s aerospace and defense capabilities, fostering international collaboration and creating opportunities for women in STEM fields within the aviation sector.
