Prime Minister Narendra Modi reflected on the delivery of India’s BrahMos missile to the Philippines, questioning whether such progress could have been imagined during Congress rule. He stated, “Yesterday, the first consignment of India’s BrahMos missile has been dispatched to the Philippines. This has generated employment opportunities in large numbers on the ground level. Could all this have been imagined during Congress’ rule?… Congress bad-mouthed Modi and HAL all over the country.”

Modi emphasized the advancements in India’s defence infrastructure during his tenure, noting, “The same HAL now has a record turnover, record profit, and receiving a record number of orders.” He highlighted the establishment of significant facilities in Karnataka, stating, “Asia’s largest helicopter factory has been set up in Karnataka. After America, Boeing’s second biggest facility has been set up in Karnataka.”

The Prime Minister discussed the delivery of BrahMos missiles to the Philippines, facilitated by the Indian Air Force’s C-17 Globemaster transport aircraft, part of a USD 375 million deal signed in 2022. Additionally, he mentioned, “The export of ground systems for the BrahMos supersonic cruise missile system along with the missiles started last month itself.” Acknowledging the success of the BrahMos program, Modi emphasized its role in enhancing India’s deterrence capabilities.
