As India’s Lok Sabha elections approach their climax, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed confidence in his party’s prospects, both nationally and in the state of Odisha, where simultaneous assembly elections are underway.

In an exclusive interview with ANI, Prime Minister Modi addressed the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) decision not to form an alliance with the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) led by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik in Odisha. Despite acknowledging a positive rapport with Patnaik, PM Modi emphasized prioritizing Odisha’s welfare over personal relationships.

“In politics, relationships between leaders should be amicable. However, the question arises: should I maintain personal relations or focus on Odisha’s future? I have chosen to dedicate myself to Odisha’s bright future. If sacrificing personal relations is necessary for that, I am willing to do so,” PM Modi stated.

Highlighting concerns over the governance in Odisha, PM Modi criticized the current administration, alleging a monopolization of power by a select group, hindering the state’s progress. He reiterated his commitment to ensuring Odisha’s development and identity.

PM Modi also made bold predictions about the BJP’s performance in Odisha, asserting that a BJP Chief Minister would be sworn in on June 10, signalling a significant political shift in the state. Turning his attention to West Bengal, PM Modi projected the BJP’s dominance in the forthcoming elections, citing growing support for the party and indicating a challenging scenario for the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC). He denounced reported incidents of violence and intimidation against BJP workers in the state, underscoring the public’s resilient response.

Moreover, PM Modi reiterated his vision for a “Viksit Bharat” (Developed India) as his primary agenda if re-elected, emphasizing the importance of national progress and prosperity.

With the election fervor reaching its peak, PM Modi’s remarks underscore the BJP’s strategic focus on expanding its political footprint and realizing its vision of a transformed India.
