Taking to Twitter PM Modi tweeted, “Kargil Vijay Diwas is a symbol of pride and glory of Maa Bharati. On this occasion, my salute to all the brave sons of the country who have accomplished their valor in the defense of the motherland. Jai Hind”

Meanwhile, President of India Draupadi Murmu also tweeted on the occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas and said “Kargil Vijay Diwas is a symbol of extraordinary valour, valour and determination of our armed forces. I bow to all the brave soldiers who laid down their lives to protect Mother India. All their countrymen will always be indebted to them and their family members. Jai Hind!”

However, on 26 July 1999, the heroes of India defeated Pakistan in the Kargil war. During the war, the Indian Army repulsed Pakistani infiltrators with their valor. At the same time, as part of “Operation Vijay”, the Indian Army won by capturing Tiger Hill and other posts. On this occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi saluted the bravery of the Indian Army.
