Prime Minister Narendra Modi, participating in the Pran Pratishtha ceremony at the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple in Ayodhya on Monday, adorned a cream-colored traditional kurta-pajama, a matching jacket, and a stole. Within the intricately carved white marble temple, PM Modi ascended a series of stairs to reach the garbha griha for the pran-pratistha ceremony.

Leading the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ rituals after an 11-day Anushtan in preparation, the Prime Minister initiated the ceremonies with a prayer to Lord Vishnu. Amidst hymns and Vedic chants by priests, PM Narendra Modi offered prayers to Ram Lalla, and the 51-inch tall idol was unveiled during the Pran Pratishtha ceremony.

The ceremony took place in the presence of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, and other dignitaries. PM Modi shared his sentiments, stating, “The divine moment of Pran Prathishta of Shri Ram Lala in Ayodhya Dham is an emotional moment for everyone. It is my good fortune to be part of this unique programme. Jai Siyaram,” in a tweet.

Outside, Indian Air Force (IAF) choppers showered flower petals over Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple premises as the idol of Ram Lalla was unveiled. The air resonated with chants of ‘Jai Sri Ram’ from the invitees, with over 8,000 guests attending the grand temple ceremony.
