Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tribute to Sikh Guru Tegh Bahadur on his martyrdom on Monday.
Taking to Twitter PM Modi said, “I pay homage to Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji on the day of his martyrdom. He is universally admired for his courage and unwavering commitment to his principles as well as ideals. He refused to bow to tyranny and injustice. His teachings continue to motivate us.”
Meanwhile, Guru Tegh Bahadur was the Sikh ninth Guru. Guru Tegh Bahadur has been known for his contribution to freedom of religion. The martyrdom of the ninth Guru Tegh Bahadur is referred to as Shaheedi Diwas.
Guru Tegh Bahadur was the father of Gobind Singh, who was the eleventh Guru of the Sikh religion.
Moreover, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also paid homage to Sikh Guru Tegh Bahadur on his martyrdom day.
Taking to Twitter CM Yogi said, “Tributes to the great saint and ‘Hind Di Chadar’ Guru Shri Tegh Bahadur Ji Maharaj on his martyrdom day!”
However, Guru Tegh Bahadur cremation sites in Delhi, Gurudwara Sis Ganj Sahib, and Gurudwara Rakab Ganj Sahib. On his Martyrdom Day Sikhs give special prayers in Gurudwaras.
