Prime Minister Narendra Modi, addressing the Lok Sabha during the ‘Motion of Thanks’ on the President’s address, indirectly criticized the Opposition. He recalled a time before 2014 when many believed “Iss desh ka kuch nahi ho sakta” (Nothing can happen in this country), stating that his government’s tenure has transformed this pessimism into optimism and confidence in India’s capabilities. Modi highlighted the shift towards a belief that “anything is possible in this country,” attributing it to his government’s efforts.

Emphasizing the mantra of “Justice to All, Appeasement to None,” Modi contrasted his administration’s approach with what he described as long-standing appeasement politics. He noted that his government’s tenure has focused on delivering justice impartially, aiming to uplift the country from despair.

During his speech, opposition MPs protested loudly in the House, prompting Speaker Om Birla to intervene firmly. Modi took a swipe at the opposition, acknowledging their electoral defeats despite attempts to spread misinformation. He expressed pride in the electoral mandate received for a third consecutive term, citing it as a testament to the people’s trust in his leadership and the NDA coalition.
