Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed anticipation ahead of his visit to Moscow, highlighting his intent to comprehensively review India’s relationship with Russia alongside President Vladimir Putin and discuss global and regional issues. The 22nd India-Russia annual summit aims to bolster bilateral ties across diverse sectors.

Following his engagements in Russia, Modi will embark on a historic visit to Austria, marking the first by an Indian Prime Minister in over four decades. He emphasized the significant progress in India-Russia strategic partnership over the past decade, spanning energy, security, trade, investment, health, education, culture, tourism, and people-to-people exchanges.

“I eagerly anticipate discussing all facets of bilateral cooperation with my friend President Vladimir Putin and exchanging views on various global and regional matters,” Modi stated. He emphasized India’s role in promoting regional stability and expressed his enthusiasm for engaging with the vibrant Indian community in Russia.

Regarding Austria, Modi described it as a steadfast partner sharing democratic values and pluralism. He anticipated productive meetings with Austrian President Alexander Van der Bellen and Chancellor Karl Nehammer to enhance bilateral collaboration in innovation, technology, and sustainable development.

“This visit aims to elevate our partnership to new heights across emerging areas,” Modi affirmed, expressing readiness to engage with business leaders to explore trade and investment opportunities. He also praised the professionalism of the Indian community in Austria and looked forward to interacting with them during his visit.
