He got into the online realm in 2000 when Indians were still learning to spell ‘dotcom’. He founded India’s first wedding media company, ushering the wedding industry to the computer. Any questions you needed answers for were yours to get at the click of a button. His site www.weddingsutra. com with a following of Indians across the globe had the masters clamouring to get listed.

Parthip Thyagarajan, a self-made entrepreneur, now helps most reputed wedding planners, florists, destinations and chefs through his portal. Wedding photographers too get a platform to share all those delicious bridal pictures through his site WS Engage. The cake was when he announced awards in the wedding industry and hosted them with such style at Taj Lands End Mumbai. Couturiers like Shyehla Khan, Abhinav Mishra, Jayanthi Reddy, Nachiket Barve, ShantanuNikhil and wedding designers like Mehr Jesia dressed the tables for a cordon bleu oomph evening.

Now, as the pandemic has struck the big fat wedding, he has started an interesting digital community he calls Plates and Profits, connecting hand-picked, best of the best wedding and social caterers to reach out to each other. “In these tough times we all have to help each other find a voice and make the shrunken weddings an equally memorable experience. Any down time always allows new leaders to emerge.” He is the first in a series of digital heroes who are not crying over spilt milk or wondering who moved the cheese.
