Lakshya Sen has advanced to the badminton semifinals by defeating Chou Tien Chen from Chinese Taipei with scores of 19-21, 21-15, 21-12 in the Paris Olympics quarterfinals. With this victory, Lakshya becomes the first male Indian shuttler to reach the Olympic semifinal.

Although he narrowly lost the first game, Lakshya remained determined and made a strong comeback by winning the next two games. In the semifinals, he could potentially face either the 10th-seeded Loh Kean Yew or Denmark’s reigning Olympic champion, Viktor Axelsen.

The two-time Youth Olympics medalist is set to compete again on Sunday with an Olympic final spot on the line. Lakshya displayed remarkable composure throughout the match, which featured numerous intense long rallies, testing both players’ endurance. He is now just one victory away from securing a historic badminton medal in Paris, marking his debut at the Olympics.
