A fire safety and awareness mock drill was conducted by the Panjab University, Chandigarh Security Office for the University employees. Officials from the Fire Department, UT, Chandigarh were invited to provide guidance on safety measures during fire emergencies.

Vikram Singh, Chief of University Security at PU, stated that the drill aimed to raise awareness among employees about handling fire-related emergencies at the University. He emphasized the importance of understanding the proper use of gadgets to prevent incidents, given the prevalent use of technology.

Naresh, Fire Officer from Sector-11, Chandigarh, and his team conducted the drill, explaining various types and causes of fires, methods to extinguish different types, and precautions to prevent fire incidents. The University staff were also given hands-on experience with fire extinguishers.

Prof. Y.P. Verma, Registrar, commended the efforts of CUS and suggested regular conduct of such drills. Prof. Jagat Bhushan, Controller of Examination, Prof. Namita Gupta, Director of Public Relations, Dr. Parveen Goyal, Coordinator of NSS, A.K.Rai, XEN, and various University staff attended the drill.
