Panchkula Mayor Kulbhushan Goyal has expressed his gratitude to Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal, Assembly Speaker Gian Chand Gupta, and Urban Bodies Minister Dr. Kamal Gupta for initiating the GPR survey work prior to the excavation of Agroha mound in Hisar.
Goyal highlighted the plans to develop Agroha as an archaeological site, with an MoU signed between the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) and the Haryana Archeology and Museums Department. Professor Javed Malik from IIT Kanpur will lead the survey team, and post-excavation, a national-level museum is planned for the site.

Agroha is anticipated to become a significant historical and tourism destination, featuring a tourist welcome center, site lecture center, museum (Mahabharat Panorama), planetarium based on an astrological timeline, meditation center, and knowledge park. Goyal elaborated on the development plans for the city of Agroha, encompassing an area of 25 cubic kilometers known as Agrodak, with 18 distinct cities.

The Agroha Development Board, chaired by Gyanchand Gupta, has been constituted by the state government to formulate a comprehensive plan for Agroha’s development.
Agroha, the capital of Maharaja Agrasen, is envisioned as Agrasen Global City, set to emerge within a 20-kilometer radius, akin to the global identities of Singapore and Mauritius. Goyal emphasized Agroha’s role in promoting cultural tourism on a global scale, with the Maharaja Agrasen Airport playing a pivotal role. The forthcoming excavation, the fourth in history, will transform Agroha into a world-class tourism center as part of the government’s ambitious plan.
