The Chitra Bharati National Film Festival’s fifth edition is set to take place in Panchkula, Haryana, featuring renowned artists from the film industry nationwide. Scheduled from February 23 to 25, the festival is collaboration between Bharatiya Chitra Sadhana and the Haryana Government.

Deputy Commissioner Sushil Sarwan shared details about the event, stating that it will be held at Red Bishop, Sector-1, Panchkula. Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal will inaugurate the festival on February 23, with Sports, Youth Affairs, and Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur attending the closing ceremony as the chief guest on February 25. The festival trophy was unveiled on January 10 at Tagore Theater Chandigarh by actors Randeep Hooda and Pammibai.

Sarwan emphasised that this marks the first time Haryana has the opportunity to host such a prestigious national-level film festival. Preparations are underway to ensure the festival’s success, with all necessary arrangements expected to be completed on time.

Notable personalities such as Rajkumar Rao, Kangana Ranaut, Kirron Kher, Pankaj Tripathi, Sunny Deol, Anupam Kher, Sudipto Sen, Vipul Shah, and Chandraprakash Divedi are anticipated to participate.

Rajesh Kumar, the Executive President of Bharatiya Chitra Sadhana, highlighted the organization’s dedication to showcasing and promoting Indian culture through films. The festival aims to utilize cinema as a powerful medium for realistically portraying Indian culture and promoting social integration.

Kumar mentioned that the festival will feature screenings of films by emerging filmmakers, dialogues with prominent artists, and workshops for youth. Renowned actors like Akshay Kumar, Vivek Agnihotri, Prasoon Joshi, Subhash Ghai, Hema Malini, and Madhur Bhandarkar have graced the Chitra Bharati stage in previous editions.
