New Delhi, July 13: States Vice Presisent Kamala Harris had a telephonic conversation with the newly appointed Leader of Opposition Lok Sabha and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, sources claimed on Friday.
According to sources, the Congress leader had a detailed conversation with Harris on Thursday evening.
However, the sources said that the details of the conversation between the two leaders are unknown.
Meanwhile, the senior party leaders remained tight-lipped on the development of conversation between the two leaders.
This is the first conversation between the Congress leader and the US vice President, following the conclusion of the general elections in the country in June this year.
The conversation also holds prominence in wake of presidential elections in the United States later this year as speculations are also rife that Democratic party leader Harris, who is of Indian and African heritage, could step in as a challenger to Republican candidate Donald Trump.
It is yet to be seen if US President Joe Biden should continue as the nominee for the November 5 presidential election.
Biden on number of occasions had reiterated that he is fit to seek re-election and defeat Trump.
