A deadly suicide bombing rattled Pakistan’s Balochistan province late Sunday as militants from Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) launched a coordinated attack on a Frontier Corps camp in Gulistan, close to the Afghan border. The powerful explosion, followed by intense gunfire, resulted in multiple casualties and extensive damage.
TTP Launches ‘Al-Khandaq Operation’
The TTP has claimed responsibility for the assault, calling it part of their “Al-Khandaq Operation.” According to reports, the attack started with a suicide car bomb at the entrance of the camp. Immediately after the explosion, heavily armed fighters stormed the premises, engaging security personnel in a prolonged gun battle.

Civilian Casualties Near Market
Local sources stated that at least three people died and eleven others were injured when the vehicle-borne explosive device detonated near a market area adjacent to the army camp. Fortunately, most shops were closed at the time, which helped reduce civilian casualties. The explosion also destroyed a section of the camp’s wall.

Pakistan Army Yet to Respond
Gunfire reportedly echoed throughout the town for hours after the initial blast. Security forces launched a counter-offensive, and emergency services remain on high alert. As of Monday morning, the Pakistan Army and the Frontier Corps have not issued any official statement.
Second Major Attack in Two Days
This assault marks the second significant attack carried out by the TTP in a matter of days. Just 48 hours earlier, the group had targeted a security checkpoint in Khuzdar, killing four paramilitary personnel.
