Multiple loud explosions were heard on Thursday morning along Walton Road in Lahore, Pakistan’s largest city in Punjab province, triggering panic among residents. According to local media, three back-to-back blasts rattled the area, prompting people to rush out of their homes in fear. The city skyline was covered in thick smoke following the blasts, further fueling chaos.
Visuals aired by local news outlets showed people gathering on the streets in confusion and terror. “There was a loud bang, then another. We thought it was an airstrike,” a resident told reporters. Several others were seen making urgent phone calls while traffic in the area came to a sudden halt. The fear of more explosions kept many from returning to their homes.

The incident occurred shortly after several air routes over Lahore and Sialkot were temporarily shut for commercial flights due to rising border tensions, Samaa TV reported. No official statement has been issued yet on the cause of the blasts. With tensions escalating following India’s Operation Sindoor strikes on terror camps in Pakistan, authorities remain on high alert. Further details are awaited.
