At least 41 terrorists belonging to the outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) were eliminated in a shootout after they tried to enter Pakistan from Afghanistan, officials confirmed.
Security personnel fought the militants close to the Bibak Ghar region in the North Waziristan tribal district on Friday night, an official said. “Most of them were Afghan nationals,” the official said.
Following the confrontation, security forces initiated a search operation to clean the area of any lingering terrorists, the official stated.
To the time of filing this report, there had not been any official statement by the military media wing on the Pak-Afghan border clash.
