Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday strongly condemned India for blaming Pakistan for the Pahalgam attack without even conducting an inquiry. While speaking at the passing out ceremony of Kakul Military Academy, he alleged, “The state of Jammu and Kashmir is Pakistan’s jugular vein.”

Reiterating Pakistan’s position, Prime Minister said, “Pakistan stands willing to cooperate in an objective inquiry into the Pahalgam incident,” refuting India’s unfounded allegations. He also denounced India’s suspension of the Indus Water Treaty, stating, “Water is our lifeline. There can be no compromise on this issue.”

During his remarks, PM Shehbaz showered praise on the professionalism of the Pakistan Army and underlined that the nation deeply cared about its military. He warned that any misadventure by India would not be mistaken for the weakness of Pakistan. “Just as we had given a worthy response to the Indian aggression in 2019, we will do the same this time too in case of any misadventure by India. We will defend every inch of our land,” he underscored.

Talking of regional security, the Prime Minister also addressed the terrorist activities coming from Afghanistan. “We have apprised the Afghan government of our dismay at the latter’s failure to hold in check the terrorists operating with impunity from its soil,” he said, adding that Pakistan had suffered heavily at the hands of terrorism.”No nation has suffered as much as we have suffered,” he said.

Emphasizing Pakistan’s pledge to global peace, PM Shehbaz said, “We will continue working according to the UN Charter.” He categorically reaffirmed Pakistan’s stance regarding Kashmir, declaring, “No one could dispute the fact that Kashmir was an issue of contention. The people of Kashmir will have to be granted their right to self-determination.”

Concluding his address, the Prime Minister expressed optimism about Pakistan’s economic recovery, claiming that the country’s economy was now improving.
