PM Modi Set To Visit Russia For The First Time Since Ukraine War: What’s On The Agenda?

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is set to undertake a significant official visit to the Russia and the Republic of Austria from 08-10 July 2024, marking pivotal diplomatic engagements on multiple fronts.

In Moscow, Prime Minister Modi will participate in the 22nd India-Russia Annual Summit, hosted by President Vladimir Putin. The summit aims to bolster the longstanding bilateral ties between India and Russia across various sectors. Discussions will encompass a broad spectrum of issues of mutual interest, spanning regional dynamics to global affairs.

Following his visit to Russia, Prime Minister Modi will embark on a historic journey to Austria from 09-10 July 2024, marking the first visit by an Indian Prime Minister in over four decades. He is scheduled to meet President Alexander Van der Bellen and engage in talks with Chancellor Karl Nehammer. A key highlight of the visit will be addressing business leaders from both nations, underscoring opportunities for enhanced economic cooperation.

In addition to official engagements, Prime Minister Modi will connect with the Indian diaspora in Moscow and Vienna, reinforcing cultural and community ties.

This visit underscores India’s commitment to strengthening bilateral relationships and exploring new avenues of cooperation with both Russia and Austria.
